betwe good morning. charges are expected today in the disturbing death of a man who was pushed right in front of the path of a new york subway train monday and why investigators are questioning a suspect they believe got into an altercation with the victim before pushing him. kirk gregory has the story. >> reporter: it's a horrifying death that has many new york city subway riders in shock. >> the victim here was caught between a train and the station and expired on the scene. >> reporter: police say 58-year-old kesu kahn was shoved in to the path of and oncoming train and was struck and killed. the driver of the train was so distraught, he had to be taken away in a wheelchair. tuesday, police apprehended a suspect for questioning. they believe he's the man seen in a heated argument with the victim on the subway platform before the violent

confrontation. to identify the suspect, detectives poured over security video from area stores and took him into custody near the scene of the crime. meanwhile, haun's family and neighbors are grieving. >> feel bad to myself and to the family, you know. it is a tragedy. >> reporter: his wife was seen being comforted by priest and police detective after learning of her husband's tragic death. kirk gregory, nbc news. just a horrible story. well, elsewhere president obama could name his choices for two top cabinet posts in the next two weeks. one of those jobs may very well go to a republican. senior administration sources say former nebraska senator chuck hagel is on the short list for defense secretary. hagel met with the president this week. he's thought to be one of four finalists on a list that includes massachusetts senator john kerry, kerry is also being mentioned as a possible successor to secretary of state hillary clinton if president

showers early, and then the sun will come out, it will get breezy and a little windy. and the cold air, it's still chilly in minneapolis, but that's where you you should be this time of year. where it won't see much of a cooldown is anywhere in the southern half of the country because the cold air is just kind of cut off. you notice a lot of clouds over the heartland. the green on the map shows you where the rain is. new england, you've had rain overnight. it's been very light and continues to move through, but driving up on 95, heading through new hampshire into maine, you'll get in some of that rain. boston just some showers for you. new york city, it look like maybe a sprinkle or two. there has been rain overnight in louisiana and mississippi, but that doesn't even look very impressive heading towards mobile. forecast wise, the only areas that will look like winter soon towards minneapolis, you're one of the only spots could i find that has a chance for some snow. so today's forecast, again, still very warm out there. even above average after the cold front. denver at 68. for the eastern seaboard, this upcoming weekend, a little more unsettled, but not chilly.
